Youth Exchange "Yoga for Peace" in Bakuriani, Georgia

In the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, the Youth Exchange "Yoga for Peace" took place in Georgia from 3 to 11 February 2024. This Youth Exchange was organised by the Light Up organisation. The Youth Exchange "Yoga For Peace" supported young people to focus on inner peace and on emotional, mental and physical health behaviours, while instilling the concept of peace.

This youth exchange involved 36 participants from Belgium, Georgia, Greece, Spain, Armenia and Ukraine. A participant from the Greek group reports:

“Overall, in these 10 days I met people from all over the world and had experiences I could never have imagined I would have had. I connected with people who have become my family and with whom we are planning our next trips. It was an awesome experience that I wouldn't change for anything and would do it again without a second thought. I was quite touched by the peace in the world because through this Youth Exchange we saw the difficulties our fellow human beings face clearly, with the additional sharing of the team from Ukraine. In addition, we emphasized on people with special needs and highlighted the difficulties that society imposes on them by using tools for their recognition.

This Youth Exchange managed to combine nature such as the landscapes, the mountains and the snow with the relaxation of yoga and its erudite character, meaning yoga techniques that help you in all areas of your life. Also, the food was delicious and in abundance! Throughout the day we had activities and this way we stayed active! I got to know different cultures, tried traditional foods from other countries and learned many new things. Plus I went to places I never even imagined I could go. We all participated in everything and that way no one was idle. We developed and deepened in concepts such as that of solidarity, we did activities and tested ourselves on it in order to understand its importance.”
