Training course "In the Right Shoes" Craiova, Romania

The training course "In the Right Shoes" took place in Craiova, Romania, from July 23 to August 5, 2021. In this project 6 countries participated (Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary).

The main goal of the project was education with non-formal teaching methods with the main purpose of including young people with mental disorders. This was achieved through:

  • Education with the use of therapy through play, art, percussion instruments
  • Training in the organization of non-formal activities in mixed groups
  • Promoting non-formal education in raising awareness and combating discrimination and stigma
  • Development of a network to promote the inclusion of young people with mental disorders.

In addition to the above goals, the program offered us much more. In such a few days, we managed to meet many different people, to enter for a moment in their own perspective and to learn what it is like to live in different parts of the world. Every night was special, because we all spent it together as a big group. We laughed, danced to Balkan rhythms, tried different cuisines and exchanged views and ideas about life, the world and everything. For our part, although we were a small but strong group, we tried to convey to the other participants the Greek mentality and way of life. In general, it was two unforgettable weeks, that whatever we write is not enough to capture what we experienced. Therefore, if a picture is equal to a thousand words...
