Seminar "Cultural Heritage Up Rising!"

The international Erasmus+ seminar "Cultural Heritage Up Rising!" took place in Guadeloupe (French territory in the Caribbean) from 4th to 12th of June 2019. The training course was for project coordinators, youth workers, educators and NGO workers from Guadeloupe, Greece, French Guiana, Sweden, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Estonia and Martinique.

Aims of the seminar were to develop socio-professional inclusion and civic engagement of young people, especially those with fewer opportunities by promoting the use of protection and enhancement of cultural heritage as a non-formal education tool in order to :

  • Develop the skills and tools of youth workers ;
  • Promote Europe's cultural diversity by enabling partner countries to exchange and highlight their cultural heritage;
  • Create concrete and lasting partnerships between cultural professionals and youth professionals to enable the development of new intercultural projects promoting the protection of heritage and the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.

To achieve the aims of the seminar, participants shared best practices of projects, social enterprises and activities, visited many local NGOs and social enterprises that work in this field and participants worked on future partnerships for projects that would promote the protection of heritage and the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. Representatives of YCE created not only new international partnerships with organisations from Europe and South America but also developed local project ideas in the field of preservation of cultural heritage in Epirus region.
